Affiliate disclosure

Today: this site contains no affiliate links, sponsored placements or ads. The site-wide switch affiliates_enabled is off, so model pages do not show a where-to-buy list.

A model file can hold an optional where_to_buy list (a store name and an https link). While the switch is off, that list is not rendered and does not appear in the HTML.

If the switch is turned on later, a model page that has where_to_buy links will show them with this treatment:

• A visible line next to the links says some of them are affiliate links and points back to this page.
• Each link is marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener".
• This page stays the explanation of how the site may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
• Which models we cover, and what we say about them, still comes only from the makers, NFPA, USFA and CPSC. A store link cannot change a fact.
• Numbered source citations are never affiliate links, and they never use rel="sponsored".
