Privacy
AlarmSwap is a set of plain reference pages. It doesn't ask who you are, and it keeps as little about your visit as we could manage.
Updated
Hosting
The site is static files served by GitHub Pages. GitHub says it logs and stores the IP address of anyone who visits a GitHub Pages site, for security purposes. That log is GitHub's, under the GitHub Privacy Statement; we don't get a copy.
Visit counts
We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script loaded from Cloudflare on each page. Cloudflare's documentation says Web Analytics does not collect or use your visitors' personal data, and its product page says it uses no client-side state such as cookies or localStorage to collect those numbers. What we see are totals: page views, the pages people read, the sites that linked here, and how fast pages loaded. We can't see who you are.
Search
The search box uses Pagefind. It runs in your browser and looks things up in index files served from this site, so what you type is not sent to us or to a search company.
No forms, accounts or cookies of our own
There is nothing to sign up for and no form to fill in. The site sets no cookies of its own.
Links to other sites
Citations link to alarm makers, NFPA, USFA and CPSC, which have their own privacy policies. Today the site has no affiliate or store links. If that changes, a retailer may set its own cookies after you click one of its links; the disclosure page explains how those links would be marked.
